Well, unfortunately it did. The Moosehorn River reared it’s ugly head yesterday and proceeded to flood a good part of the campground. Less than a 1/2 percent chance it will happen again for 50 years they told me…..! Although the flood waters rose at about 12 inches an hour yesterday, the experience from our previous debacle of 2012 told us we better get the word out fast. And, no surprise to me, we had dozens of our Timberline family drive up and help rescue close to 40 units, in the dark mind you! Our staff  and volunteers worked tirelessly until 3:30 am pulling units and helping where we could. Unfortunately we couldn’t save everyone and that saddens me. The park is a mess with debris floating around everywhere. I do promise everyone this, we will work our butts off to get things back to normal as fast as we can!

So, with the mess and the Pavilion sitting with 6 feet of water in it, we have to cancel our regatta and dance scheduled for Saturday. As of now power is turned off in about half of the park. I can’t give you a definitive answer as to when it will be restored until we are able to better assess the damage. Our lift stations are down, so no dumping of holding tanks is allowed. Our shower house is also closed until the lift stations are once again running. We are trying to get porta potties delivered, but there is a big demand for those right now because of the flood.

You are welcome to come here but be prepared to be self sufficient. ( no sewer or electricity). If you have frozen or refrigerated food, I recommend you come soon and bring it home. I know our Timberline family will pull together, help each other out and get through this once again. For you fortunate ones who were not affected, we could use your help also.

I will update frequently this week as we gather information and further assess our damage.

Thank you,

Vern
